WEEK 2

My cards today are Delicate,minimal, and a red car. I didn't actually look for the word when I saw the card. I picked it from the colors and patterns on the card. It wasn't until later that I realized it was the words on the card that mattered. The materials I chose today are steel wire, wire mesh, wet paper towel and rubber. I chose these materials mainly because metal and rubber symbolize the body and tires of the car, and the car card inspires me a lot from the perspective of the concrete. When I see a car, I think of Volvo, a symbol of safety, so I made my work into a cylindrical shape, and the paper towel wet with water in the middle symbolizes fragile human beings. I didn't do any planning and design during the production of this work, but the effect is still very good. The work of three technologies is challenging for me. Because in my previous works, only a few of them have been designed for three dimensions and devices. So I have no experience with 3D devices, but this challenge was a success for me. In the process of production, I learned about the characteristics of materials and the ability of modeling and how to place the installation in an ideal state in the composition of a space. In fact, today I did not think of using the materials that were not used in previous works, but I briefly analyzed the concept of the so-called minimum. I think the rubber in my installation is small in the huge iron wire, so I added the rubber into it as a part of the work. Tomorrow I will make the second work, I will bring spray paint and paint, wire and barbed wire and the fallen leaves found on the road. The inspiration still comes from the metal elements of cars, while the watercolor and spray paint are because I hope the installation can be more entertaining. I don't think the installation and works must reflect some serious topics, such as environmental protection and war. I think funny works that can make people happy are also art. For me, art should not be inscrutable, but should be able to arouse resonance and mutual understanding between the audience and the artist. I bring the fallen leaves mainly because the fallen leaves, as the withered life itself, are fragile. Moreover, the fallen leaves used to be plants, and it is difficult for plants to take self-defense measures, so they are fragile.
